Looking back on 2021

Updated: Jun 22, 2022

Looking back on 2021, it’s been an incredible year despite all of the challenges & obstacles placed before me.

I am not one to pat myself on the back, but I must admit that I am so proud of my accomplishments I achieved by working hard, staying focused & believing in the power of the mind & myself!

Have you heard the phrase “Believe to achieve”? I am living proof that it is true!

After being in a wheelchair for 3 years, and going through an amazing program at the “Institutes Of Health” I am now back on my feet standing & walking (for short periods of time), and I am truly grateful for that! I’ve learned how to live with having a permanent disability, CRPS, chronic pain, atrophy & more, but that will never stop me. Being disabled does not mean I am unable to live my dreams!

From having to relearn how to stand, bend, sit & walk again…to my first dance moves I made in Patricia’s class…one can’t even imagine the tears of joy I shed, especially while walking along some of the trails that are not accessible to wheelchairs, which led me to creating The Disabled Photographer Project, traveling to different National Parks around our country & advocating for accessibility by creating my “How Accessible Is Accessible” series on Youtube making videos, writing blogs, articles, participating on podcasts, panels & more!

After taking many trips to Joshua tree since 1999, and dreaming of living here, that move finally happened this year!

Being back on stage at Comic Con Special Edition & doing my panel on Promotion to a room filled with creators, artists, writers, crafters, film makers, producers, content creators & hearing back from so many on how I helped change their lives meant the world to me!

I love helping others & have helped so many people along the way, but one of the many things I promised myself while going through physical therapy was that I would never allow anyone to work me to death or to injury again! I made a vow to myself, that I would take all of my experiences, knowledge, talents & skills and invest in myself, work for myself & I did it!

There were so many more accomplishments this year, but these are some of the biggest ones for me. I am so excited about all of the things in the works for my business in 2022! Stay tuned & happy New Year!
